Manchester Poltergeist Caught on CCTV - Video

During the early hours of 1st November 2012, security staff monitoring CCTV at an office in Castlefield House on Liverpool Road, Manchester, witnessed a harrowing chain of events. This is the actual footage seen by those security guards as they flicked from camera to camera.

The 6 Most Eerily Convincing Ghost Videos on YouTube - Part 1

YouTube is full of "This is totally real, guys" ghost videos, and if you don't spend at least one night around Halloween browsing through a bunch of them, you're not truly getting into the spirit of the holiday. Here are what we consider the most eerily convincing videos in the genre.*

*Note: Science has found zero empirical evidence for the existence of ghosts, aliens, demons or any other supernatural creatures, and these videos will surely not fool an expert in video fakery. Unless he or she watches them alone, late at night, in the dark. Then they become very convincing.

#6. The Levitating Girl

It's just a dude strolling through the woods in Russia, when he sees something ... weird:

Approximately 99 percent of "supernatural" videos can be revealed as hoaxes simply by asking "Why was anyone filming this?" As much as Cloverfield and The Blair Witch Project have attempted to convince us otherwise, people usually don't have cameras glued to their faces unless they know someone is about to be shot out of a cannon or something. So that's our question as soon as this video opens:

Twist ending: The dog is actually several smaller dogs in a suit.
A Russian man is out filming his dog in the woods, waiting for something quantifiable adorable to happen. Maybe the dog was supposed to do a back flip or something. Instead, he runs off, having apparently sensed black magic in the trees. The cameraman chases after him and stumbles across these two girls and holy shit, one of them is flying:

The older girl in orange watches appraisingly as the tiny one in red floats 10 feet above the ground. Camera Manikov steps in for a closer look, making all of the noise in the world as he does so, and the girls spot him. The hovering child drops back down to earth and the two run off.
Now, the obvious answer here is that the girl is on a wire. There's even a convenient gap in the filming -- as the guy is moving in closer, the camera is pointed at the ground for a second or two, and when it snaps back up, the little girl is already back on the ground. We don't ever actually see her descend, which if wires were involved would be a dead giveaway. You'd see her tilting awkwardly or her clothes pulling up at odd angles wherever the wires were attached, even if she were wearing a harness. So clearly, she's being held aloft by wires that are connected somewhere in the trees ...

Um, in the ... uh, trees ...

Or maybe a crane? Someone could've, you know, moved a crane out there to the left or right of the girls and tied a harness to that ...

Ok, well, it's probably just ... CGI or green screen or something. Maybe it's a viral ad created by a tourism bureau in Russia designed to ensure we never, ever go to Russia. Or, if we do, that we never enter the woods alone. Mission accomplished, guys!

#5. The Headless Ghost

In this video, we have four kids wandering around looking for a ghost in an abandoned school in Iraq (one description says India, but since they're speaking Arabic we'll go with Iraq). The boys are kind of wandering aimlessly through stairwells and empty classrooms for a solid two minutes, which would arouse suspicion under our "Why is anyone filming this?" rule if not for the fact that we know they are explicitly waiting for the lights to suddenly dim and for a hallway full of disembodied 19th century clothes to start doing the Monster Mash. That doesn't happen. What happens is much creepier:

About halfway through, while conducting yet another unremarkable sweep of a hollowed-out classroom, they seem to find what they are looking for:

A headless goddamned ghost appears right in goddamned front of them. You literally see it materialize on camera -- of all the entries on this list, this is the one you absolutely have to watch. Seriously, your mind will be blown like Eric Stoltz's penis in The Rules of Attraction. As they swing the camera lazily through the room, the ghost just walks very purposefully toward them like it's delivering a pizza, while a long, low moan emanates from its phantom lungs.

Surely at this point our ghost hunters are propelling themselves the hell out of that school on pants-shredding jets of crimson-tinged fear diarrhoea. Except they aren't. In fact, they have no reaction at all, and they continue scouring in the haunted building for another two boring minutes until the clip ends. (At least the "moaning" isn't coming from the ghost -- it's the beginning of a call to prayer in a neighbouring mosque. You hear the service continue throughout the rest of the video.)

YouTube commenter's seem to think the ghost is simply one of the boys who went to go look out the window; that the bright light coming through obscures his head and gives him a washed-out ghostly look for the camera. But again, watch the video -- when the camera sweeps across the floor a few seconds earlier, nobody is standing there:

And it really does look like a translucent figure materializes into an empty freaking room. You can even see it beginning to bleed out of the wall and take shape when the cameraman first shakily stumbles in:

If this is all an accident of the lighting and their shitty cell-phone cameras, then it was a lucky damned accident, considering they were specifically there to hunt ghosts in what they thought was a haunted abandoned building. If they doctored the video with effects later, then this is a remarkably subtle job. These are giggling teenagers goofing around, and we're pretty sure they gave us a creepier ghost effect than any of the Paranormal Activity movies. So good job, guys -- you successfully creeped us out, one way or another.

GHOST HUNTING VIDEO CAPTURES CREEPY EXPERIENCE!

Ghost Hunting Video! We captured a real creepy experience when I was grabbed ghost hunting abandoned ruins in San Antonio, TX!Roger from Shadowlight Paranormal invited me to explore this creepy and scary abandoned ruin in San Antonio, TX. In the nearby park somebody had been murdered and another paranormal group had caught an EVP at this location. It was enough to wonder if the location could be haunted by a ghost. It was also the perfect chance to practice my ghost hunting skills as I prepare for some bigger paranormal investigations this summer. However, I was surprised when I had a physical encounter that left me wondering if I had just experienced paranormal activity. We had a lot of camera shooting and in this video you can watch my reaction in real time and watch if we caught spirit activity on

Adelaide Arcade ‘Haunted’ By Caretaker Ghost Francis Cluney

IT’S the oldest shopping arcade in Australia with a deadly past and at least one resident ghost.

Caretaker Francis Cluney was investigating a flickering light when he fell into an electrical generator and died in the most gruesome way.
The father-of-five’s mangled body was found a short time later and many of the arcade’s businesses are convinced he still walks among them and watches over them.
According to centre management marketing consultant Sharon Leaney, “friendly Francis” is most active when works are taking place.
And some say he’s not alone.
Despite his gory death way back in 1887, Ms Leaney said many traders still report feeling his presence and had come to accept him like part of the furniture.
She said traders and shoppers at the iconic arcade, built in 1885, didn’t seem to be put off by the ghostly presence.
“We’re quite sure it’s him,” she told news.com.au of the reported sightings and encounters.
“He seems friendly and no one seems spooked by him — we think he’s just keeping an eye on things.”
Ms Leaney said traders had reported encounters from things being moved to feeling cold and hearing footsteps when no other people were around.
On one occasion an electrical contractor went into the ceiling while doing some work and heard footsteps behind him before it went cold.
According to her, he refused to do the work telling management they didn’t have enough money to make him do the job.
And it seems Francis isn’t the only spirit to walk the shopping arcade, which was the country’s first retail centre to have electric lighting, according to the Adelaide Arcade museum.

In 1904 a man called Thomas Houghton shot his wife dead in what used to be the laneway next to the arcade.
She ran into the arcade to get help before taking her last breath.
Ms Leaney said some traders had even reported hearing a child’s voice and laugh, who some claim is the ghost of a girl who was suffocated by her mother.
Francis Cluney’s story and that of the other ghosts were captured by Fox TV show, Haunting Australia , which went inside Manhattan Dry Cleaners, close to the spot where it is believed Mr Cluney died.
Manhattan Dry Cleaner business owner Bronwyn Berry admitted she was a sceptic but even she believed there was something following the show’s filming.
Mrs Berry told news.com.au her daughter and brother-in-law both reported encounters with Francis.
She said when psychics were brought in following filming, problems began occurring with one of their machines.
Her brother-in-law ended up apologising to the ghost for bringing strangers into the shop and everything went back to normal after that.
“My daughter was in the shop one morning before the arcade opened and heard the EFTPOS machine beeping,” Mrs Berry said.
“She said ‘Francis if this is you beep again’ and the machine began beating furiously fast.”
Mrs Berry said whether it was all coincidence or not, they had been in the arcade for 40 years and weren’t thinking about moving elsewhere because of an apparent ghost.
Arcade’s resident psychic Joan Lesley told The Advertiser in 2004 that Francis wasn’t the only ghost to walk the mall’s floors, with his friend Ken also believed to haunt the arcade.
“There’s a woman here but she won’t tell me her name — she smothered her child with a pillow and is too ashamed to identify herself,” she said.
“They have a real attachment to the building and are really quite harmless.”

The 'New Look' Store In Torquay Is Haunted By Gran Who Hates Skimpy Outfits

Terrified staff call in medium over fears shop is

haunted by gran who hates skimpy outfits!

Terrified staff have called in a medium over fears their shop is haunted by a gran who hates skimpy outfits.
Seven workers at fashion store New Look heard mystery bangs, footsteps and whisperings.
Spiritual medium Linda Helliker poured cleansing salt on the floor and tried to communicate with a prudish widow named Gladys.
The strange happenings began when staff in Sidmouth, Devon, entered an unused storeroom.
They discovered it used to be Gladys’ bedroom when the building was a hotel three decades ago.
Shop manager Lisa Jordan said: ““That room is normally out of bounds but we had to unlock it because a health and safety visitor came to check it out.
“Ever since then we’ve heard banging noises even though nobody is up there.
“When we’ve been in the stockroom we’ve heard footsteps coming down the stairs. We’ve even heard a strange swooshing that almost sounded like a disapproving sigh.
“One girl heard a whispering in her ear and she got so scared she ran into a table. Another of my girls felt someone breathing on their neck.
“It’s really weird and quite frightening.”
Medium Linda, whose son Deej works at the store, said she felt the “energy of an elderly lady”, adding: “I think she disapproved of too many bare bellies on display.”
Manager Lisa added: “Before she left, the medium asked us to put some flowers in the room as a nice gesture.
“When we checked on them later the flowers were on the floor and the cup we put them in was smashed.
“Thankfully it’s been fairly quite since then so hopefully she’s made her peace with us.
“Apparently Gladys had a Yorkshire terrier - so if he we see clothes hopping around the store by themselves it’s just the dog wanting to play with us.”

My Dolls Are Haunted

Dolls are no more than toys for most, but for psychic Katrin Reedik, they are the spirits of the dead who think of her as their mother.
Since she began collecting her delicate dolls in 2010, Katrin believed they were haunted by the souls of people who have died, but lived on in her collection. Katrin is so convinced of their spiritual being that she speaks to them, cares for them, and even arranges for babysitters when she is out of the house.
Katrin joins us now to talk about her 12 constant companions, and why she is doesn't need friends when she has her 'family'.

'Ghost' Of Scottish Soldier Photographed At French World War I Grave

A teenage boy has snapped what he believes to be the ghostly figure of a soldier during a school visit to war graves in France.

Mitch Glover snapped the images at the Neuville-St Vaast German war cemetery near Arras, in northern France, scene of bloody battles nearly a hundred years ago.

The 14-year-old used an atmospheric black and white setting to take four pictures with his iPhone.

Schoolboy Mitch Glover took this snap in the Neuville-St Vaast German war cemetery near Arras, northern France

In one of the four, a pale shape can be seen at the left of the frame.

Glover, from Leamington Spa, decided to research the history of the region and discovered the shape of the apparition could resemble that of the kilt and Tam o’Shanter uniform of the historic Seaforth Highlander regiment.

The largest German cemetery in France, containing 44,833 burials, it is located a few hundred metres away from Nine Elms military cemetery. Buried at Nine Elms are twelve N.C.O'S. and men of the 114th Seaforth Highlanders who fell on the 9th April, 1917.

Glover’s mother Sue, an antiques dealer said: "I thought, I need to show a few people this. I showed some friends and they all went 'that's a bit strange'. I showed it to one friend who knows photography a couple of days later and that's when he said 'somebody needs to see that'.

Glover with his ghostly photo

"At first I thought when I saw it looked a bit Tudorish. It looked like Henry VIII with the hat on the side, stood with hands on hips. It didn't look like a German soldier. I thought it just looked out of place. And then a friend of mine said, do you realise that looks a bit Scottish, like World War outfits from the Seaforth Highlanders.

“I could see what they meant. It looks like they are holding something in one arm. Whether it's a rifle or something one friend said it looks like he's stood on guard over them. There is a British graveyard right by it. It is not just that one, there is a British Commonwealth graveyard there as well."

Cornwall's Bermuda Triangle?

Is this Cornwall's Bermuda Triangle?

Villagers believe dozens of cars are POSSESSED because they keep locking and unlocking themselves for no reason!

  • Cars have been locking and unlocking themselves in Summercourt, Cornwall
  • One child was trapped inside when lock mysteriously activated on its own
  • Residents say vehicles are possessed and call area 'Summercourt Triangle'

People living in Summercourt, pictured, in Cornwall, say their cars locked and unlocked by themselves and some would not start

Lin Howard, who has been affected, said residents have changed key fob batteries but the problem, which started six months ago, has remained.
She said: ‘Another driver has not been able to start their car.

‘They have to go home, get back to school, get someone to look at the car, then after a period of time it starts again.’
Resident Wendy Malham said: ‘I got in the car to drive to school and the locks were going on-off, on-off, like it was possessed.
‘I can’t actually lock my car any more because the alarms go off.’

Eerie: Residents are been left baffled after their cars started locking and unlocking themselves and have dubbed their village the 'Summercourt Triangle'

Kelvin Malham added: ‘We went to Andover where we didn’t have a problem, but when we returned it started again.’
Expert Mike Parris from car technology consultancy firm SBD said the most likely cause was accidental radio interference adding that it was ‘not unheard of’.
He said it could be caused by “almost anything that is wireless”, such as alarm systems, temperature gauges, weather stations or walkie-talkies.
‘Residents could try and keep a log of when they have difficulties, the locations which are worse and anything which helps to pinpoint it.
‘These things are notoriously difficult to pin down,’ he added.
