Colchester County Ghost Hunters Have Passion For The Paranormal

TRURO - Walter Williams has a passion for finding evidence of the paranormal.

The local paranormal society has had countless reports of paranormal activity in the area, however, it hasn't had permission to investigate them all yet. In the future, the group aims to have community support to create something more, such as a ghost walk open to the public with real stories to coincide with it.

Recently, society members toured a small section of the former Diefenbunker in Debert. There was evidence of residual voices picked up through the voice recorders and they were later captured when Williams was reviewing his electronic data from the outing. There is also evidence picked up from photographs of small orbs floating around and other light and energy sources following them around the bunker in complete darkness.

Protection, Williams says, is key on a ghost hunt, and hunters always speak out to the spirits in the area.

"We protect ourselves and say, ‘if there is anyone here with us, you stay here when we leave,'" said Williams. "We also always burn a bit of sage to remove any negative energy from the room."
